Spring Break Ideas: Things to Do with the Kids
Spring break is here! Kids are delighted that they don’t have to go to school, and not even the thought of mountains of homework will put a damper on their mood. It’s Spring and the promise of sunshine is around the corner, so take some time off from your busy schedule and go have fun with your kids! Here are some ideas on what to do with the little’s in and around Danville for spring break fun.

It’s fitting that the place has ‘experience’ in its name because it isn’t just a zoo or an exhibition. It’s an experience – and a wonderful one. Seeing wild birds and animals always makes kids happy. The place is great because it brings kids closer to nature, and helps instill a love for living creatures in their young minds. It’s educational, but you won’t find them complaining! It’s an old favorite – kids never seem to get tired of it. Take your kids over to this fun place with trampolines, zip lines, indoor sports, and foam pits. It’s great for hyper-energetic kids since there’s very little here that isn’t high-energy. Has your kid been humming with energy all day? Well, then, a day at Rockin Jump is exactly what the doctor prescribed! They’ll have loads of fun, and be nice and calm afterward. Grab a meal on your way home, and drive back leisurely knowing you’ve worn them out.
Zoos are another favorite with kids. The Oakland Zoo is an educational experience and a fun outing rolled into one. It houses some truly majestic beasts – from mighty elephants to lordly lions and striking zebras. Their collection of feathered creatures is great too, with bald eagles, jewel-like blue-bellied rollers, the gorgeous hadada ibis, or the stylishly pink flamingoes. Their website has pictures of all their residents, as well as several live cams. Make sure you have lots of time when you visit the zoo because it’ll absolutely fly by!
Don’t let the name fool you – the place is well-loved by boys and girls alike! The park is most popular with smaller kids, but kids of all ages can have fun here. The best thing is that you can ride with your kids! They have a bunch of cool rides, with the ‘Pixieland Express’ being both charming and unique. They have a café with possibly the best nachos in the area. Their cheese fries are also pretty great. The snacks aren’t super healthy, but hey, it’s an outing after all.
