Spring Sports for Kids

If you’ve been hoping to get your kids interested in sports, there’s no better time than Spring. The weather is mild, the outdoors look glorious – it’s the best time for playing! Whether you’re a concerned parent that wants their kid to exercise more or one with a child interested in competitive sports – sports leagues are a great option either way.

Read on for a list of some of the best sporting leagues for kids in or near Danville. Get them out and active!

1. SRVGAL 

The San Ramon Valley Girls Athletic League is the largest girls’ softball organization west of the Mississippi. SRVGAL admits girls as young as five years old, up till the age of 18. They’re a nonprofit formed in 1974, and foster an excellent atmosphere of camaraderie, competition, and team spirit. Registrations will open around early September, and practice starts as early as February 1^st. Check their website for updates, and for the final date announcement.

2. Danville Little League

Children aged 5-12 can join – although Danville Little League has very strict age and division requirements. They have high standards and strict discipline. This can make getting in a little difficult, but if your child is with them, he/she is in good hands. 3. Tassajara Valley Little League

This little league, based in Danville, CA, is open to boys and girls between the ages of 5-16. They coach young kids on how to play baseball – teaching them sportsmanship, loyalty, courage, and respect for authority in the process. They have several locations across Danville and San Ramon, so you should be able to find one that’s close enough to you.
