National Spouse Day is just around the corner (January 26), and Valentine’s Day is coming up in a month! It’s time to start thinking about gifts, and an awesome date night idea. There are only two days a year when you officially get to celebrate your partner, so you want to make them count.
To help you along, here are some of the best options for a date night in Danville.
- Wining and dining
The classic date. Take your partner out to a nice restaurant and treat yourselves to some great food, dessert, and wine. Great for old and new couples alike – you can talk as you dine, or quietly enjoy each other’s company. Popular options include Danville Harvest, Revel Kitchen & Bar, Locanda Ravello, and The Peasant & The Pear. Or, if you are looking to brush up on your vocal chords, McGah’s is the best piano bar in Danville!
- Watch a movie
A movie night is a great idea for a lazy date during winter. Sit back and immerse yourself in the movie’s plot for an hour while you munch on snacks. Netflix is convenient, sure, but it’d be a bit of a stretch to call it romantic. You can watch the latest movies at Century Blackhawk Plaza, Regal Crow Canyon Stadium 6, The LOT – City Center, and Cinemark Walnut Creek.
- Go shopping
Head out for a day of good ole’ window-shopping and store-hopping. Check out new businesses, get great deals, try out clothes before you buy them, and head back home with bags full of awesome new stuff! Amazon might deliver your stuff for free, but sitting hunched in front of your computer isn’t half as fun. Take your pick between the Danville Plaza, Danville Square, Green Valley Shopping Center – and lots of others!
- Stroll through a museum
The Danville area has some great museums. If you’re interested in art, history, and culture – and your partner feels similarly – you can go to a museum for a date. Some great ones include the Blackhawk Museum, Museum of the San Ramon Valley, Glass House, and the wonderful Lindsay Wildlife Experience. Most of them close around 4-5 PM, so you can get back home in time for a fancy homemade dinner!
- Go stargazing
Stargazing is super romantic – and it never gets old. Driving out and away with your partner and lying under the stars trying to spot familiar ones, contemplating the vastness of space… Step away from the noise of the city and enjoy the enveloping quietness of nature. Some great sites for watching stars or the sunset include Mount Diablo State Park, Heather Farm Park, Lafayette Reservoir, and Castle Rock Regional Recreation Area – all of which are a short drive away.
Whether you opt for the old familiarity of a meal at a restaurant, or the novelty of quietly watching the setting sun, remember that the goal of the evening is to spend quality time with your partner. Take the time to thank them, and tell them what they mean to you.
