Independence Day is nearly here, and the Danville area has a number of exciting events you can go to – whether it’s for live music, yummy food, a fun parade, or to watch the fireworks at night.

Kiwanis 4th of July Parade, Downtown Danville
The annual parade by the Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley will take place from 9AM to noon, starting near the San Ramon Valley High School and ending at Sycamore Valley Road. You’ll need to bring your own seating arrangement, and sidewalk space will be open for booking starting 6PM on July 3rd. It’s a good idea to bring refreshments with you, because most restaurants will be closed.
Harvest, Downtown Danville
Join in for a Patio Party, starting at 8:30AM. Enjoy Bloody Mary’s, Mimosas, & Breakfast Sandwiches, and enjoy a class view of the parade!
McGah’s Pub and Pianos, Downtown Danville
On the 4th of July, enjoy a Backyard BBQ at McGah’s, from 11AM-2PM, James Patrick Regan, from The Deadlines will be playing! Come on over before the Parade Downtown Danville from 7:30AM-11AM, for breakfast sliders, Bloody Mary & Mimosa Bar, Coffee, Juice & More! Starts at 7:30AM-5PM.
4th of July Concert at the Park, Civic Park, Walnut Creek
The Walnut Creek Concert Band will begin at 6PM. Bring your friends and family for a picnic in the park, while enjoying the FREE music
Independence Day Celebration, Downtown Clayton
Enjoy FREE family events on the field, watermelon and ice cream giveaways, a hose down by the Clayton Fire Department and a live FREE music concert! Don’t miss the fireworks show, shortly after 9PM! There are bleachers set up around the park in ideal locations for fireworks viewing, but you can also bring blankets and chairs to find a spot on the infield.
4th of July, Downtown Concord
Concord has quite the line-up of events. Starting at 8AM (registration at 7AM), they have the 5K/Kids’ Run. The parade starts at 10AM from Mount Diablo High School. It’ll wrap around Todos Santos Park and return to the rear of the school. They’re also organizing a fun festival with a kids’ carnival, food vendors, craft stalls, and live music starting at 4PM, and the fireworks will start at 9PM. Sounds like a fun day all-round!
Red, White & Boom Fireworks Block Party, Downtown Livermore
Livermore is celebrating this Independence Day with a fantastic fireworks display around 9:30PM. You can also shop around and have a nice meal while you’re in the city – the party officially starts at 4PM, and you can expect some exclusive deals and special offers. The fireworks will be launched from Railroad Avenue, and there is no viewing charge.
4th of July Celebration, Downtown Pleasant Hill
Head down to watch the parade, beginning at 9:30AM. Be sure to come directly to Pleasant Hill Park right after the parade. Bring the whole family – there is something for everyone! Admission is FREE. All activities, games, rides & attractions are also FREE! The park is located downtown at the corner of Cleaveland & Gregory Lane, a short walk from the parade route. There are plenty of picnic tables and also plenty of grassy areas where you can spread a blanket for your lunch. The fireworks begin at dusk, around 9PM. Arrive early enough to enjoy the music prior to the firework show!
4th of July Block Party, Downtown Oakland
The 4th of July party in Oakland will take place from 11AM-6PM at Jack London Square. Entry is FREE, and the party will have music, dance, art and food. Buskers and children’s zones will keep the kids busy, and you can enjoy some live music, tasty food, and performances from entertainers. There’ll be a beer garden for which you’ll need a special pass.
4th of July Celebration, Berkeley Marina
Free admission, Alcohol-free event. Parking $20 cash ($50 for large vehicles). Live music and dancing, Free photo booth, dragon boat rides, a zip line at Adventure Playground and the beach! Carnival rides, pony rides, petting zoo, inflatables, giant slides, 30 food purveyors, crafts stalls. Fireworks over the bay at 9:35PM.
4th of July Celebration Festival, San Ramon
The city of San Ramon hosts a community festival with live music, where you can watch Garrat Wilkins and the Parrotheads perform. The festival will be between 5-8PM, and will have patriotic music, fun live music, kids’ crafts, life-size games, and some amazing food and drinks. Food Truck Mafia will be present with their fantastic assortment of food truck options, and you can also purchase wine, beer and beverages. Note, however, that there won’t be a fireworks display.
The 4th of July Parade & Celebration, Downtown Orinda
On July 4th there are events for every age group starting with the annual Pancake Breakfast, flag raising ceremony, fun run, parade, live music, food, games and booths in the park following the parade. Everyone is invited to participate in the planning, sponsor a booth or event, participate in the parade, host a booth in the park, or just come and enjoy the events!
