A List of FREE Monthly Museum Days

Who doesn’t like a good deal? It’s even better when something is FREE. Luckily, we live in an area with amazing opportunities to visit some of the best museums around! Here is a list of Museums in and around SF that offer free general admission on certain days out of the month:

Every Saturday: FREE for Bay Area residents (with proof of residency): de Young Museum and the Legion of Honor Special exhibition fees may apply.

First Sunday: Oakland Museum of California

First Tuesday: de Young Museum, Conservatory of Flowers, and the Legion of Honor

Second Tuesday: SF Botanical Garden at Strybing Arboretum

First Wednesday: Botanical Garden at Berkeley

First Thursday: Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive

**FYI: Groups are generally not admitted on free days. Make sure to check with each museum for their free day group policy. Please also note that most museums charge for admission to special exhibitions and usually only the special exhibition fee is charged on free days.
