Blow UP Inflatable Contemporary Art!, 8/17 & 8/18
Blow UP explores the imaginative ways that artists use air as a tool for creating large-scale sculpture and includes imagery that is figurative and abstract and will feature large-scale artworks by a roster of internationally renowned artists not before seen at the Bedford Art Gallery, Walnut Creek.

Yolo County Fair, 8/16-8/18
Located in Woodland, The Yolo County Fair, the largest and oldest free fair in California! Events include; judging everything from pies to preserved foods, 4H livestock entries, exhibits of home, garden, industrial and fine arts plus a carnival, rodeo and demolition derby. The fair is from August 14-18,  12PM-12AM.

Kids’ Cooking Class, Sur la Table, 8/16
Immerse your kids in five days of hands-on fun. Each day, kids will put on an apron and get cooking, making foods they love and making new friends too. The menu is all-new for 2019, and experienced instructors can’t wait to get young chefs rolling their own pasta dough, baking their own cupcakes, brûléeing banana splits and more unforgettable activities. The best part—they’ll get to eat everything they make!

Summer Showcase Broadway Musical, 8/16, 8/17, & 8/18
Get ready for I Can Do That Theatre Company’s fourth Summer Showcase! This year there are two separate productions which are completely unique from the other. You won’t want to miss out on one! Let us introduce you to songs old and new from all genres of Broadway musical. And if you know them already, please sing along!

Family Sundown at the Oakland Zoo, 8/16
Grab your tent, sleeping bag, your family, and a few friends and get ready for an overnight adventure at Oakland Zoo. This unique program includes dinner, nighttime and morning activities, live animal presentations, s’mores, and a hot morning breakfast! This program is available to all families with children ages 4 and up. If you love nature, the Zoo, camping, and fun then this is the perfect program for you!

Artistry in Motion Dance Show, 8/16
Best of the East Bay winners for Best Dance Troupe, Mother/daughter Co-Artistic Directors Debbie Saravia and Lindsey Saravia-Neville strive to entertain and inspire our audiences by creating diverse choreography set to a variety of musical genres. Our September 27 & 28 show ‘Artistry in Motion’ will include Jazz, Tap and Contemporary choreography closing with fan favorite finale Sing, Sing, Sing.

Family-Friendly Picnic on the Front Lawn, McGrail Vineyards, 8/17
Celebrate the last weekend of summer before sending the kids back to school with a fun family friendly picnic on the front lawn at McGrail and a rockin’ performance by Rock On Tap! Big C BBQ will be here selling a delicious BBQ lunch and Aldo’s Italian Ice and Gelato will be here selling cold treats! McGrail wine will be available for purchase by the glass or bottle.

Arroyo Viejo Cleanup at Oakland Zoo, 8/17
Volunteers work on a variety of outdoor tasks that may include: picking up garbage, pulling invasive species, spreading mulch, moving materials, cleaning signage or planting native plants. After your volunteer assignment is completed, you will receive free admission to explore the Zoo for the remainder of the day!

Tomato & Vine Festival, 8/17 & 8/18
The Tomato & Vine Festival has become one of the largest family festivals in the area, with nearly 25,000 visitors in 2018. The Tomato Marketplace is the core of the festival, featuring a variety of California grown heirloom tomatoes, gourmet food vendors, and agricultural displays. FREE Admission & Parking! 5 Festival Blocks along Texas St. in Downtown Fairfield.
The festival also features tomato eating contests, live entertainment, cooking competition, beer and wine gardens featuring local varieties, food court, artisans and crafters, tomato-related vendors, children’s activities, and more!

Hot Summer Sunday’s Car Show, 8/18
Sundays are made to relax and cruise! Come down and check out Classic Cars, delicious food, family fun, & good music! What’s better than this on a Sunday afternoon?! Located in Downtown Danville, from 11AM-4PM.

McGah’s Sunday Sunday Brunch, 8/18
McGah’s signature brunch menu available beginning at 11:30AM. Drink specials including $7 mimosa pitchers and extreme Bacon Bloody Marys. There will also be outdoor patio games: Bean Bag Toss, Basketball, Giant Connect Four-Family Friendly!

Wine Tasting on the Rails, 8/18
Come out and enjoy this relaxing summer wine tasting special. They will be serving 5 Livermore Valley Wine on our 1920s climate controlled parlor car attached to the end of our general train. This is exclusive to wine tasting ticket holders only. Must purchase a ticket! From 12PM-2:30PM.

Bioluminescence Kayaking Tour, 8/18
The bioluminescence night kayaking tours are an experience unlike anything else you will do in Point Reyes. Observing the glowing water in Tomales Bay on a dark night is a magical experience. Bioluminescence is best viewed on nights with no moonlight, and these conditions occur about two weeks out of every month. These are the nights they schedule tours.
