This event has ended

Please join the Mt. Diablo Astronomical Society for its August 3 astronomy program. This month’s topic is The Search for Alien Worlds: What does life on Earth tell us about where we might find life elsewhere in the galaxy? Take home a map of stars that have planets. Learn to find your favorite constellations. The program starts at 7:30PM at the lower summit parking lot of Mt. Diablo State Park (enter the park at least 45 minutes earlier).
Although there is no fee for this program, there is a park entrance fee.

Parking in the Lower Summit lots is limited and is First Come, First Served. If the lots are full when you arrive, you may park outside those lots, but please note:
-Park ONLY in other designated parking areas or completely off the road.
-Illegally parked cars are subject to ticketing or towing by Park personnel.
-It is rare, but possible, that nearby parking will not be available.
**Bring kids, binoculars, warm clothes (temperature can drop), snacks, and water. No need for a flashlight but if you must bring one, please cover it in red plastic.
**Park gates are locked after sunset, and exit of the park is permitted only via escorted caravans several times during the evening through the Northgate entrance.
