Outdoor Camping Overnight at Oakland Zoo

Grab your tent, sleeping bag, your family, and a few friends and get ready for an overnight adventure at Oakland Zoo. This unique program includes dinner, nighttime and morning activities, live animal presentations, s’mores, and a hot morning breakfast! This program is available to all families with children ages 4 and up. If you love nature, the Zoo, camping, and fun then this is the perfect program for you!

About the Event

Families should arrive at 5:00 p.m. sharp to set up camp. Your overnight adventure begins with a pizza dinner and a chance to get to know your fellow campers. Next explore the Wayne and Gladys Valley Children’s Zoo on an exciting guided twilight tour with a special behind the scenes. Afterwards create enrichment treats for one of the Zoo’s specially selected animals. Head to the Wildlife Theater for an amazing show, and finish off around the campfire for s’mores before settling in for the night.

Wake up in the morning to the sound of the animals. After breakfast, have an up-close encounter with some education animals not on exhibit in the Zoo. Join your guide for a morning tour of the Zoo and finish off the experience by observing the animals enjoy your hand made treats created the night before. Return to camp to take down your tents and pack up your things, but feel free to stick around the Zoo since your program includes admission.
