Buisness Spotlight: Dog Tired Adventures
How did your business get started and what inspired you?
We started in 2015 after I had a near-death car accident. I realized if that accident had taken my life, I wouldn’t have lived the full life of potential I knew I had. I loved dogs and animals in general and wanted a career with them. I started the company just walking a few dogs myself. I then realized I wanted to expand and have a team. During the car accident, I received an outpouring of love and support from friends and family and I committed myself to giving those good feelings to others as well and that’s what the business is on a mission to do.
What is your background and how did you develop the skills to start your business?
I grew up around animals and learned from a dog trainer at the San Francisco SPCA about positive reinforcement techniques that we use on the pups.
What’s the one thing your business is known for over your competitors?
We don’t just “pick up the leash” and walk the dogs, we build relationships with them and our clients by going above and beyond expectations and contributing to happier, cleaner communities wherever we may go.
Which small businesses are you inspired by?
Homes by Lauren McLane! She’s hardworking yet down to earth and a fun person to be around.
What is your favorite part about living/working in Danville?
It’s got such a small-town feel! Everyone is so friendly, the Iron Horse Trail is so accessible, and downtown always has something fun and interesting going on!
Tell us the most interesting and fun tidbit about your business…
I would say the way we started is the most interesting thing about us-I have been fueled by the tragedy of my car accident to get this company going.
